Sketches from the Tour
We take a look at the process behind the sell out illustrations for the Tour

We helped Sweetspot build on the success of the new Tour of Britain brand with the design and marketing for the 2015 event. We wanted to capture the unique spirit of an international road cycling race and generate a creative that not only looked fantastic but had commercial value to Sweetspot.

We approached graffiti artist and illustrator extraordinaire Will Barras, knowing that his unique style would perfectly capture the energy and flow of the tour passing through the stunning locations around the UK.

We worked closely with Will to interpret the landscapes of each stage of the tour in the classic style of the Travel by Rail posters with a ‘twist’ – injecting them with an energetic illustrative take on crowds and the sporting drama of road cycling.

We were able to deliver eight unique illustrations to the client that could be integrated into the marketing and event collateral for 2015 and sold as limited edition artworks through cycling retailer, Rouleur.

Sweetspot and title sponsors Aviva were delighted with the outcome and the creative standard that we set for future events.

The limited edition artworks sold out in a matter of weeks, and we are currently working with Will on a new set for 2016 – keep your eyes peeled!
