The University of Bristol's new Life-Sciences building hoardings took on a new look today. Gone were the usual painted plywood surfaces and replaced with illustrations and text. They now display facts, accomplishments and events that associate the university with the world outside.

Peloton are delighted to have been asked to work with Somerset County Cricket Club on their promotion and marketing materials. We are all looking forward to working with such a successful and progressive club on what is looking to be a very exciting season at The County Ground.

Branding for Sahara Forest Project was on display in front of the world press this week. Pleased to say that the project is proving to be successful and interest is growing.

Teaser campaign for Bath Rugby's Autumn/Winter Leisure Range.

Peloton art-directed a photoshoot and designed promotional material for Bath Rugby's first ever complete seasonal range of leisurewear. A marked move away from the usual player photography, Peloton worked with Dan Rowley to create a more aspirational aesthetic.

We have! Just over 100 in fact.

That was hard, we strongly recommend never under taking a research project like it.

After the disappointment of the shop bought we turned our hand at making and developing our own, even Tom's mother got involved.

Out of shop bought it was clear that Bristol's Bordeaux Quay deli deep fruit filled beauties are the best. If your passing Bordeaux Quay during the festivities it's worth a visit to sample their lovely mince pie.

The overall winner and were not bias - is Liam's (his first attempt at making any kind of pie at that). Your going to have to trust us on this. They won hands down each bite leaving you wanting more. Who knows what was in them but he assures us they were perfectly legal and crafted by himself.

Next time you speak to him he may give you some tips.

We love a good mince, a pie that is - the choices out there can, at times, be very confusing. 

Each December it has been a tradition in the studio to sample and rate the options out there. From budget to luxury, we analyse, blind test, contemplate, spend way too much time, and find the minciest perfect pie there is. Wine tasting has got nothing on the way we test these pastry parcels. The reason, well, the truth is we don't know. But never mind that, it's the month of December and that means one thing, it's mince pie season.

So it was decided due to our expertise after years of taste testing (scoffing too many, Tom) we'd publish our findings for all you out there. Meaning that over the Christmas break you can be sure of your purchase and enjoy every single bite.

New Dawn

Makeovers are all part of a shopping experience these days (according to our Tom) for customers after the latest in high street brands. However, our task involved giving the shopping area a makeover. We took on the challenge, to re-dress, and far from avoiding anything going pear shaped, the results have been stunning. Top to toe the high street has witnessed a make over like no other. We are really pleased to say that praise has come from every quarter. We're chuffed to bits with the new look and the confidence it has given Bristol Shopping Quarter to show off its assets.

Today sees the launch of the Cycle Show 2012 at the NEC.

This year we have developed a range of layered images that cover all the aspects of cycling. The show is huge covering the latest in design, products, disciplines, personalities, experiences, interviews, shows, demonstrations, food, events etc...

By building a range of flexible images that can depict the events we could be flexible and display the key messages for different audiences. All this whilst retaining a distinct Cycle Show style.

Our biggest congratulations go to Lucy who has retained her UCI World title last weekend - we scared Yogi the dog with all the shouting at the TV, stunning ride Lucy!

Months leading up to the eighth edition of the modern day Tour of Britain we were busy producing the ToB bible, known officially as The Race and Hotel Manual. It is the reference point for everyone, racing in, working on and following the race. Each stage is very different which means producing bespoke hand drawn maps, dealing with safety as well as information that teams use to plan their racing strategy. A cracking project we love to get our teeth into each year.

The racing this year was incredible. Cav winning 3 stages in his typically impressive fashion and a British GC winner in Jonathan Tiernan-Locke, Endura Racing. The crowds were incredible and to be there working on the race literally on the race line was fantastic. 

We do not know where the years have gone since the idea of the revival of the ToB was muted back in 2003. The development of the logo (Flagman) and the subsequent brand development in 2004 has changed very little standing the test of time and still getting compliments from general public, young and old. something we are very proud of and will continue to develop for future editions of the race.

Originally commissioned in 2012 to revive the identity and create a new image for the event. We are pleased to say that for the second year running the 2013 Caffe Culture promotional materials will be produced by Peloton. The work continues to use the great photography by Jason Ingram who truly captured cafe lifestyle and the range of venues we have in the country.

The event continues to grow with an increase in foot fall showing that everyone loves a cuppa.

Peloton won a 5-way pitch to work with Destination Bristol to create an umbrella brand for the three main shopping areas of Broadmead, The Galleries and Cabot Circus. Peloton helped in the name generation, Bristol Shopping Quarter and then developed the logo, website and signage.

This has been one of the most rewarding projects we have had the pleasure to work on. The team at Destination Bristol have been superb in their approach. An example of how to review then engage an agency. A real pleasure for us here at Peloton.

Three new kit designs for Bath Rugby for the start of the new season. As Bath Rugby fans it was always a challenge to make a successful change to the kit. A radical departure for home and away kits whilst retaining the values of the clubs heritage in the European Cup shirt and always a reference to the blue, black and white.

We have had the busiest summer I can remember. Busy working on projects which until recently were under wraps, hence no news for the news section. We've had our heads down cracking on. More details will be available on some of the new projects as they are completed so for now we are pleased to show the following. Bath Rubgy new kits and campaign, Bristol Shopping Quarter branding and our continuation of the Caffe Culture Show.

Our first venture into cycling clothing production and management, as well as our usual kit design, hit the roads at the weekend in the form of The White Tree Rouleurs cycling club kit.

No sooner had the club received their kit than they headed out for a training ride on the west coast of Wales, where they sent us this photo.

As you can see it was smiles all-round.

We are very pleased to see the arrival of the University of Bristol Identity Guidelines, a project which has become very much a part of the studio over the past year. In such a highly complex organisation these guidelines will help to retain a consistent message. It has been a unique and brilliant project to be part of and we are looking forward to seeing how the guidelines get used in years to come.

After a two year absence we are thrilled to be working with the Cycle Show once more on their 2012 creative.

Back in 2009 Peloton were asked to produce an identity for the Sahara Forest project - the project along with our little mark was launched in front of the worlds media at the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit and now in 2012 it has got the go ahead.

We have just completed work on a new identity for the 2012 UCI World BMX championships to be held in Birmingham. 

We have designed a series of cycling images for the Bike Bath 3 day event in June.

The images are to be used on promotional materials from poster, signage to clothing.

We have just finished a brand for a new 3 day cycling event for the city of Bath, starting 22 June 2012.

Along with the 2 sportives, running over 2 days there will also be an evening of professional city centre racing. The weekend will be full of cycling related events from art to food. As and when the events are promoted we will let you know.

Our last project of 2011 was for the Summer of 2012.

In November a House of Commons cross-party All Parliamentary Cycling Group, set up a meeting with an aim of bringing cycling companies and organisations in the UK together to promote cycling during the Olympic year.

In the meeting were commercial bike brands, retailers, and organisations such as British cycling, CTC, Sustrans, The London Cycling Campaign, Cycling Scotland, Bicycle Association, Bike Week, TfL, Association of Cycle Traders, Tour of Britain, Cyclenation and the Cycle to Work Alliance.   

Our brief was to produce a logo that can be used by and link together roots cycling initiatives to professional teams.

2011 was full of new stuff, new clients, new projects, new ways of working and new people. 

Firstly, we would like thank all the people that have commissioned us in 2011.

It proved to be a vintage year for great projects. There has not been a single month where we have not been working on something really interesting. All this hard work has kept us very busy and the year has flown by. Already 2012 projects are being booked in and it looks like it will continue in the same way.

You have only got to look at each months news section on our site to see the range and diverse work from this year. There are a number of projects worked on this year that are still under wraps and these will be launched later in 2012, so keep visiting the site for news.

Karen was away on maternity leave and is back with us in 2012. Jenny who was covering for Karen has started everyday with a cheery smile and the offer of a cuppa - she was only with us for a year but now holds the studio record for the most cups of tea or coffee ever brewed. We wish her all the best for the future and to have a great time travelling. We're not at all jealous.

Predictions in the news for 2012 are not great, yes it is probably going to be hard but nobody loves a challenge more than Peloton. There is so much to look forward to already in our diaries. As the projects are completed they will be put on the site and hopefully you will like what you see.

Can you name all of Santa Claus's reindeer? How many times have I had that in the Christmas cracker as a Q&A. After all these years I still can not remember them all. Of course the one nobody can forget is Rudolph, and he was the inspiration for this years Peloton Christmas card. By the way, no points for sending us a correct list, just give yourself a big pat on the back and have another mince pie on us.

SEASON'S GREETINGS

Working closely with Jason Ingram, we have been developing a strong photographic style for the Caffé Culture Show in London.

Our task - appeal to the senses with atmospheric scenes from within the Cafe industry (the cookies were very appealing)

We have just finished work on a re-brand of Sports Marketing company Perfect Motion.

We regularly work with the Nottingham-based team to promote sporting events, so it made for an interesting challenge to look at how they promote themselves. 

A new campaign for the University of Bristol (UoB) was launched Sunday 27 November starting in The Observer and key advertising sites around the UK.

Peloton were asked to develop a concept that drew people to the UoB website for key events. So, we quite literally did just that. There are a whole host of Bristol related images created in a QR code pixel style that will lead people to 'Discover More' over the next coming 12 months.

For the last few months Peloton have been involved in bringing together an identity guidelines for the University of Bristol. As well as creating guidance for the logo, typography and imagery, we have also created a new colour palette and a system for sub-branding.

For Peloton it has been a thoroughly satisfying project. To be involved in developing a framework that is going to be used by one of the world's leading universities for years to come is something we are very proud of.

So far the work produced following the project has allowed for greater creativity whilst retaining a strong brand identity.

Peloton got its caffeine kick this month after winning a creative pitch for the Caffe Culture Show. Its great to be involved in what is the industry leading trade show for anything cafe based, and even more its covering one of our favourite beverages, what could be better.

We recently worked on an exciting Arts and Humanities festival for the University of Bristol called InsideArts. We designed a range of items to market the event including brochure, posters, banner and invites. The festival takes place on 18-20 of October and all events are free – so pay a visit if you can!

Sunday 11 September saw the start of the The Tour of Britain. 

Months of work go into the event and getting everything ready for 8 days of racing throughout the UK. This year the race starts in the beautiful town of Peebles in the Scottish Borders. For Peloton it gives us the opportunity to mix our design and our passion (well Peter's to be exact) for bicycle racing. 

Our work includes the branding and technical elements to the race. Meaning we promote the race and develop a creative campaign, produce technical elements like signage and design of leaders jerseys. The main project started weeks ahead is the Race Manual (otherwise known as the race bible). It is a document used by everyone on the race, from riders and teams for tactics to TV and barrier crews to ensure safety.

This years race will be the best yet in terms of quality of the field including Tour De France sprint star Mark Cavendish.

The race can be seen each evening on ITV4 with commentary from Brian Smith and Hugh Porter. 

Opera Project are back at the Tobacco Factory this October.

Peloton have developed an image for use on posters, flyers and programmes for the event. Launched this week the poster has already had a very positive reaction. Just like the Opera Project events themselves.

Well worth a visit.

We are delighted to have completed the first issue of Nonesuch, the University of Bristol's new magazine. The word means an 'unrivalled thing' and is also another name of the flowering plant Lychnis chalcedonica (Flower of Bristol).

The magazine features the very best from the University and it's links to the city, businesses and beyond.

Nonesuch will be showcased in Profiles 53 a bound insert in Marketing Week on 11 August 2011. 

We have just created a comprehensive website for the NHS Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, in Bath. Also known locally as "the Min", this hospital has researched and treated diseases for over 200 years.

A monogram was initially designed which is a collection of water droplets coming together to form a medical cross at the heart of the image. This image was used across the website and literature.

This Season Bath Rugby are going Gladiatorial. Working with Rob Vanderplank we have created a series of 'Epic' images to promote the 2011/12 Season.

Look out for the complete series of images over the next few months.

Outstanding Contribution to the 2011 Bristol Tourism and Hospitality award has been presented to Brunel's ss Great Britain in recognition of its 40th anniversary campaign.

Although the business name Peloton was not around 15 years ago, our work was. Back in 1996 when DVD's were launched and Dolly the sheep made the news, we produced the Directions logo as part of a brand refinement. 

The original Directions logo, a dog, based on of all things – a cat, needed bringing up to date. We had a great day photographing a lovely Pointer dog who inevitably did her own thing and never what we asked of her. Quite a few hours of manipulation using 20 different photographs taken on the day was required – a leg from one, paw and tail from another and the Directions dog was born.

All the effort was well worth it. All these years on the identity still gets referred to by prospective clients and unlike the rest of us, has not aged at all.

We where commissioned to design the leaders jersey for the Johnson Health Tech Women's Grand Prix Series. Racing on the same day as the men in the Tour Series, Britain's top female cyclists will race the streets of Peterborough, Stoke-on-Trent, Oldham and Woking. For Peloton it is great to be part of anything that raises the profile of women's cycling.

The Johnson Health Tech Women's Grand Prix Series kicks off at Peterborough on Tuesday 31st May, with the race getting underway at 17.00, with highlights shown on ITV4 the following evening as a part of The Halfords Tour Series programme.

Today sees the start of the Tour Series 2011. Ten of Britain's best cycling teams will be racing in 8 different venues throughout the UK during June.

In 2009 we developed the Tour Series brand. Since then we have designed signage, technical manuals, event programmes, jerseys, trophies and promotional literature. More can be seen here.

...Brunel’s ss Great Britain

The 40th Homecoming Anniversary/Let’s Celebrate campaign has won a prestigious industry award at the national Museums and Heritage Awards for Excellence. The project was shortlisted from 300 entrants from across the UK and Europe and beat five other campaigns on the night. A great reason to celebrate. More.

This month sees the launch of 2011 Tour of Britain, professional road race. New sponsors and routes mean revised jersey designs, route maps and literature. All was revealed to, riders, teams, press and special guests at the Transport Museum in Covent Garden on the 19 April 2011. 

We have finished the design of the summer season brochure, for St Georges.

Some great events are coming to the venue this summer so well worth a look.

Macegreen consultancy specialise in project management, building surveying and development.

IPL Bath Rugby campaign.

We have been working with IPL (main sponsor of Bath Rugby) to promote their services and utilise their relationship with Bath Rugby.

The campaign is being launched in key locations on Great Western railway stations.

The adverts will be used in general advertising and within the match day programmes at the Bath Rugby ground.

It has been a fantastic year for Peloton.

Many of our existing projects have continued in 2010, despite the economic downturn. Credit goes to a number of very hard working individuals who despite uncertainty of jobs or funding kept the wheels turning. You know who you are and deserve a very big celebratory drink.

We have been very busy working with a number of new people, organisations and companies on great projects. In fact we have been so busy during the year it felt like only a short while ago Tom was getting over excited about Christmas 2009.

We can hardly believe it's going to be 2011 in a couple of weeks. We already have plenty of exciting projects to start the new year and look forward to working with you all in 2011.

Exciting news for 2011 is that Karen is leaving for a while to have a baby and we are being joined by Jenny Powell who is starting in January. No doubt you will all get to meet and work with Jenny very soon.

We have just completed the re-design for St George's Bristol on their new Contemporary programme.
New layouts, new fonts and some fantastic photography help the brochure stand out from the crowd.

Back in the studio after a couple of weeks of design, project management, construction, dismantle and transport to the NEC and Business Design Centre for our client the National Composites Centre. The centre piece to the show was the 2 metre long display plinth, designed to display anything from a carbon bike frame to a section of wing. Along with the plinth we produced, display graphics, branded furniture and literature.

We have been working with our friends at Artworks on a complete re-brand of their company.

Shifting the emphasis from the individual services they provide, and focusing more on the creative process and potential solutions they can offer.

Look out for their vans, they will be hard to miss!

Peloton took part in Pedal it Pink Exeter to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign, raising over £500!

Fantastic weather, great food and lovely graphics met the crowds at Bristol's Organic Food Festival.

It is that time again when the top level of world cycling meet to race on Britain's roads. Our bit was done a while ago by designing The Tour race manual, revising the jerseys and producing the literature. Having worked on the race we understand only to well all the hard work and effort put in by the organisers, staff and volunteers. All the best to everyone for the 2010 race.

Peloton joined Bath Rugby on their press launch day yesterday at the Royal Crescent Hotel. We were very pleased to see our designs for their Team Coach looking very smart in its surroundings.

We have created a 40th homecoming anniversary campaign of Brunel's ss Great Britain. The ship returned from the Falkland Isles on 5 July 1970 to its original Bristol dock, the campaign is to promote a new exhibition documenting its incredible journey.

Congratulations from Peloton! The team from Whitbread road the London to Paris and raised money for a great charity.

Peloton were commissioned by Whitbread to design a team cycling kit for the 2010 London-Paris charity ride.

We were delighted to create the logo for this great event.

The Great Tour Ride is one of the UK's greatest challenges - a circumnavigation of Britain's coastline by bicycle. The whole route will cover 6,600km over a 64 day period and will raise money for some worthy charities.

Peloton were commissioned to design a logo and brochure for the National Composites Centre. The Centre will bring together dynamic companies and enterprising academics to develop new technologies for the design and rapid manufacture of high-quality composite products.
